The state’s energy and environmental affairs secretary, Richard Sullivan, has announced the completion of 18 boat-access projects at lakes, rivers, and coastal areas across Massachusetts, at a cost of nearly $1 million. Two locations in Southeastern Massachusetts benefited from the effort. About $5,000 in repairs were performed on the drainage system at the boat ramp on Plymouth’s Long Pond. A popular spot for fishermen, the stocked pond has trout, largemouth and smallmouth bass, and white perch. The ramp is managed by the state Department of Conservation and Recreation. Also, about $90,000 was put toward building a small boat access and parking area on the Fore River in Weymouth. The lot offers 29 trailer parking spaces and 10 single spaces. The site is managed by the town.
