Cell Phones for Soldiers, a nonprofit organization founded in 2004 by Brittany and Robbie Bergquist of Norwell, is providing veterans returning from overseas with emergency funds for such things as overdue phone payments, urgent car repairs, and medical services. The new initiative, Helping Heroes Home, is supported by a $450,000 donation from AT&T. “We’ve been hearing a lot about troops who are returning home and struggling, whether it be with communication needs or family needs. We wanted to help,” said Brittany Bergquist. To apply for the money, soldiers should contact their local veterans administration. AT&T is also donating $2 for every individual view of a video, “Helping Heroes Home,” on AT&T's community page, Connect for the Good.
