The Planning Board on Tuesday will resume its public hearing on a housing subdivision proposed for a neighborhood off Purchase Street in north Carver that developers had targeted last year as the site for a commercial solar-energy project. Rocky Meadow Development Corp. has proposed building 11 single-family houses on its property. Town planners have said that because of sensitive environmental conditions and town zoning rules, the 7-acre site can only support fewer homes. The developer is seeking a permit under the town's conservation subdivision rule, which allows for smaller lot sizes in order to leave more open space undeveloped. Some residents who opposed the solar project have spoken in favor of the housing plan, officials said.
