Jazz festival returning to Onset Beach

On Saturday, the Onset Beach Jazz Festival will return after skipping a year. “I hope we get a really big crowd,” said festival founder Mikelyn Roderick. “My dream and hope is for this to be a force in the realm of jazz festivals.” Proceeds from the event will help purchase musical instruments for the Wareham public schools. This year’s festival is being produced by Jerome Mitchell and Robin Jarrells-Mitchell, and will feature performances by saxophonist Walter Beasley and others. The festival will take place from 1 to 7 p.m. at the Lillian Gregerman Bandshell. For more information, visit www.onsetbeachjazzfestival.org.
