Weymouth Summer Music still has space available for students in grades four through 12 who want to learn a band instrument or improve their band skills. The program runs July 23 through July 27 at Weymouth High School, and is open to students from outside Weymouth as well, according to program director John Duff. The program’s stated goal is “to develop the student’s technical and musical proficiency of a band instrument within a fun, enthusiastic environment” and “to teach each student self-esteem, respect, discipline, creative problem solving, and an appreciation of the arts through music education.” More information is available at www.weymouthsummermusic.webs.com.
