Substance abuse

Braintree officials will host a Substance Abuse Night on Wednesday, Sept. 19 at Braintree Town Hall. Hosted by Norfolk District Attorney Michael Morrissey and state Senator John Keenan, the presentation will provide an overview and update of substance abuse efforts in Norfolk County. There will also be resources available for individuals dealing with substance abuse and speeches from local people in recovery. The event follows a Candlelight Vigil to remember those lost to drug overdose, on Aug. 10 at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Quincy. The event, hosted by the Quincy Substance Abuse Task Force, starts at 6:30 p.m. and is a collaboration between the towns of Quincy, Weymouth, Randolph, and Braintree.
