Council on Aging Director Barbara Brenton said the Triad Health Fair, set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Oct. 9 at the Halifax Country Club, will have something for everyone. An ophthalmologist from Dr. Paul Cotter’s practice in Brockton will be on hand to answer questions on diseases of the eye; the fire department will offer blood-pressure checks; the Norwell Visiting Nurse Association will do bone-density scans; and the Lions Club will be outside with its van to offer vision, glaucoma, and hearing testing. All health offerings are free. Brenton said one highlight of the day will be an indoor K-9 demonstration at 11 a.m. Halifax’s Triad is a joint effort of the police and fire departments, the Council on Aging, the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Department, and Plymouth County District Attorney’s office.
