Letter on Quincy pedestrians

I am a pedestrian in Quincy, and I’ve walked back and forth to the Quincy Center T station from my home for the last 15 years. Your article (“Quincy on a campaign to keep its pedestrians safe,’’ Oct. 7) implied that many of the problems are caused by the pedestrians. This is not the case.

For one thing, people are texting while driving, or while they’re at red lights. One morning I was crossing at a red light, and the first woman in line had her foot on the brake, and while texting, she removed her foot from the brake without looking to inch forward, and she almost hit me.
