The Bridgewater Town Council has once again extended the tenure of Interim Town Manager Richard Kerbel, appointing him to another three-month term. Kerbel’s second term would have expired on Oct. 20. A search committee has meanwhile been working with the Edward J. Collins Jr. Center for Public Management at the University of Massachusetts Boston to select a permanent town manager. The job posting attracted 33 candidates. The screening committee has interviewed semifinalists and is preparing to present a list of finalists to the Town Council. According to council president Kristy Colon, a screening committee member, the council will conduct 90-minute public interviews of the finalists, most likely starting the second week in November.
