While public attention has focused on races for national office, other important contests will also be decided in the region south of Boston in Tuesday’s election. The Massachusetts Democratic Party is trying to roll back recent Republican gains in the state House of Representatives. In the Plymouth and Barnstable state Senate District, Democratic Senate President Therese Murray of Plymouth is facing Republican challenger Thomas F. Keyes of Sandwich. Also at stake are two open House seats.
