SCITUATE — Residents in the Third Cliff area will have to deal with noise from Scituate’s wind turbine for the time being, after Board of Health officials declined to turn off the turbine some of the time.

A proposal to shut off the turbine from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. when the wind was blowing toward Third Cliff never was seconded, and didn’t come to a vote at the meeting on Wednesday. But the board did appoint a steering committee that will help determine next steps.
