Spascape closes doors

Spascape owner Deb Larson has closed both her Scituate and Plymouth spa businesses due to health problems. According to the owner, operating both businesses became too much after her house burned down in 2010 and she was diagnosed with lymphoma in 2011. Although the business has been shuttered, clients who have gift certificates can visit Earthtones Salon in Cohasset and Duxbury, as well as Dolce Med Spa and Boutique in Hanover, which have agreed to accept the full value of gift certificates bought at Spascape for a limited time. According to a release from Dolce Med Spa, the business has more than doubled its staff to accommodate the additional clients. Although closing the business was difficult, Larson said it was her only option. “It was a good run while it was open. People enjoyed it, I enjoyed running it, but now my main job is to make sure I take care of myself,” she said.
