Author visit: Westwinds Bookshop and Duxbury Free Library are hosting author Lee Woodruff next Sunday, 2 p.m., at the library. Theater auditions: The Un-Common Theatre Company is holding auditions for its Young Performers production of “Disney’s Mulan Jr.” on Saturday, Dec. 8, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Mansfield YMCA. Students in grades 1-6 are welcome. The show will be performed March 15-17. Auditions by appointment only. To reserve a spot, e-mail stating name, grade, age, e-mail, and phone number.



Holiday fair: The Soule Homestead holiday fair is Saturday 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at 46 Soule St. Baked goods, handcrafted items, live music, food and free children’s craft activities. Santa will be stopping by between 10 a.m. and noon. 508-947-6744.

Teapot show: The James Library Art Gallery is hosting an exhibition by two ceramic artists who make teapots and tea cups. Free opening reception is Friday 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. with artists Anne Conte and Jeanne Wiley. The gallery is open during library hours. 781-659-7100 or

Nativity: Hough’s Neck Congregational Church is setting up a free living Nativity scene next Sunday 5:30 p.m. It will feature residents and animals in representative scenes; guests move to each scene as the Christmas story is told. 617-479-8778.
