Rochester Memorial School was one of nine schools in the state to earn CHPS Verified status, an award for environmentally friendly, high-performance school buildings, from the Collaborative for High Performance Schools. The schools, which included Sharon Middle School, received plaques commemorating the achievement at a ceremony at the ArchitectureBoston Expo last month. The recognition of the schools makes Massachusetts the leading state in number of CHPS Verified schools, collaborative officials said. Rochester Memorial also recently won the Gilbane Co. Award for Project Achievement for construction quality.
