Organizers are seeking donations for this year’s Hanson Community Christmas. Run by volunteers, including town employees, the program provides gifts and food during the holiday season to Hanson families facing financial difficulties. About 30 families were served last year, and organizers are estimating at least that many will seek assistance this year. “Giving trees,’’ where donors can pick up requests from needy families, will be set up this week at Town Hall and the senior center, and residents will have several options for helping out. The program was run for many years by Kevin Mossman, a Hanson firefighter. This year, Jenna Gomes is heading the effort. “I’ve been really moved by the generosity of Hanson residents so far this year and hope that more will participate in the program,” she said.
