Mirbeau Companies of New York has closed a deal on six acres at The Pinehills, an upscale development of 1,600 residences in south Plymouth, where it will break ground in February on The Mirbeau Inn and Spa at The Pinehills. The $21 million complex, similar to one owned and run by Mirbeau in the Finger Lakes region of New York, will sit on a wooded knoll off the east corner of the Village Green, The Pinehills’ commercial center. The complex will feature a 50-room inn, a restaurant, a wine bar and bistro, a full-service spa and fitness facility, meeting rooms, and a large area for social functions. Mirbeau Companies managing director Gary Dower expects the inn and spa to open in the spring of 2014. A hotel was part of the original plan approved by the town for The Pinehills about 10 years ago. An early proposal for a Marriott conference center was abandoned in 2002. Tony Green, managing partner of Pinehills LLC, recently said Mirbeau will enhance the region’s amenities. “These will be very different accommodations from what’s available in the area,” he said. “There isn’t anything like it, not just in Plymouth but on the South Shore.”
