Responding to increased need for food aid, the Carver Council on Aging has announced that its Emergency Food Pantry will be open until further notice on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon at the senior center at Tremont and Lakeview streets. Open to all Carver residents, the pantry is stocked with such items as cereal, peanut butter, jelly, pasta, and tomato sauce, thanks to donations from residents and the local Shaw’s supermarket. The pantry’s regular weekday hours are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9 to 11 a.m. Food donations may be brought to the senior center or to the town library. For more information, call 508-866-4698.
