Superintendent of Schools Marguerite Rizzi has announced that the district’s Statement of Interest for renovations to South Elementary School and a new or renovated Stoughton High will not be taken up this year by the Massachusetts School Building Authority. A total of 280 statements of interest were filed from 121 school districts, and 14 were invited into the eligibility period for this fiscal year. Stoughton can reapply when a new funding cycle opens in January. Stoughton had sought the funding beacuse of problems with facilities and their potential effect on accreditation, she said.
