Elcom, an international software company, is moving to Braintree with hopes of expanding and hiring more staff. The group’s technology, known as e-procurement software, helps organizations buy and sell merchandise, and helps keep track of budgets, approval processes, and potential deals. “It makes life easier, and enables people to buy while eliminating warehouses for inventory and delivery. [There is a] visibility of what is purchased, you can go to a supplier and know the cost . . . pursue deals, make sure they don’t spend above budget. All those have contributed to savings,” said Kevin Larnach, executive vice president of operations. The company has grown from a computer hardware resale store in Norwood, established in 1985. The organization got the software system and started to develop it further, expanding into the UK market and Europe. Today, the government of Scotland uses the software daily, and hundreds of American schools have signed on, the company said.
