Students put skills to holiday work

Students in Weymouth High School’s carpentry and metal-fabrication vocational programs are playing Santa’s elves this year, taking orders for handcrafted holiday presents. The students are making jewelry boxes, ornamental sleighs, rocking horses, fire pits, and log holders. Order forms are available on the school website: www.weymouthschools.org. Proceeds from the sales go to support the school’s 10 vocational programs, which serve about 650 students, according to spokeswoman Sheila Donovan.
