A program on cooking for the holidays takes place from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, when the South Shore Locavores group presents “Easy Holiday Breakfast Ideas,” led by chefs Martha Stone and Sara Welsh. The Kingston-based Locavores, a collaboration between the Kingston Public Library and edible South Shore magazine, hosts programs based on using locally grown or produced foods. Meaghan Swetish of Brown Boar Farm will join them to talk about local, humanely raised breakfast meats, and offer samples. The event, which takes place at the Beal House, 222 Main St., Kingston, is free, but donations of $5 are accepted to cover expenses.
