The public library and the Council on Aging are teaming up to offer special programs for the town’s older adult population. The Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners last July awarded the Hanson library a $7,500 federal grant under the Next Chapter program, which funds initiatives for adults 50 and older, and the library is now finalizing a plan to implement the grant. Working with the Council on Aging, the library over the next year will be offering classes, workshops, and special events in the areas of technology, health and wellness, and culture. The program will kick off in January with workshops on downloading e-books, followed in February by workshops on how to use genealogy resources, in both cases at the library. For more information, call the library at 781-293-2151.
