Lakeville selectmen are trying to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of a member of the Old Colony Regional Vocational Technical High School Committee. Interested Lakeville residents can submit a letter to the board by Thursday at noon, officials said, at Board of Selectmen, 346 Bedford St., Lakeville, Mass. 02347, or by e-mailing tcraig@lakevillema.org. Selectmen also are seeking volunteer observers for the Middleborough/Lakeville Herring Fishery Commission, which involves counting herring at the Nemasket River run. For information, call David Cavanaugh at 508-947-2220 or e-mail herringwarden@yahoo.com. Residents can also write a letter of interest to selectmen by Jan. 4.
