Walmart site may become offices

The former Walmart store at Cordage Park may be torn down to make way for an office building. Lee Hartmann, Plymouth’s director of planning and development, said that Summit Smith Healthcare Facilities of Milwaukee, Wis., wants to construct a two-story, 76,000-square-foot medical office with a covered entrance and a red brick façade. It would be located closer to Court Street, in the parking lot formerly used by Walmart. The Planning Board voted to support the proposal as long as certain conditions are met, according to Hartmann. The company is scheduled to return before the board with its final site plans on Jan. 14. The Walmart store has been vacant since about 2004, according to Hartmann.
