Town Meeting voters agreed to two funds transfers requested by the North Carver Water District. The first will transfer $15,315 from the district’s earnings account to settle unpaid bills from town counsel Kopelman & Paige, and the second will transfer $22,000 from the same account to its operating budget to cover a change in the district’s operations. Voters also agreed to transfer $100,000 to pay a court judgment in favor of Carver police Sergeant Raymond Orr, who sued the town for lost wages after he was demoted a decade ago and who was reinstated to sergeant as a result of a Civil Service Commission decision. Voters also approved paying a $77,000 tax abatement to Verizon New England. A proposal to purchase a $38,000 water tanker for the Fire Department, however, was withdrawn.
