Two men were arrested on felony drug charges at 1064 Bedford St. on Dec. 22. According to police, Richard Harris, 30, of Abington and James Pappas of Brockton were in the midst of a transaction involving roughly 30 grams of heroin and cocaine when they were arrested in the driveway at Harris’s residence and charged with possession with intent to distribute a class A and class B substance, both felonies as well as conspiracy to violate drug laws. Police said the residence had been under surveillance for about two weeks after receiving an anonymous tip when they observed Pappas making what they believed to be a drug delivery at 1:40 p.m. Detective Sergeant Kevin Sullivan said: “When we moved in on them, they were surprised. They had no inkling we’d been watching them.”
