New car dealership moving forward

Quirk Cars Inc. received approval from the Board of Selectmen Dec. 17 to add more vehicles to its lot at the former Green Automotive, a move that serves as a precursor to the company’s planned construction of a new Dodge, Jeep, and Chrysler dealership on the former Settles Glass property on Route 139 . Quirk can now sell up to 100 cars on the former Green lot, according to Town Administrator Rocco Longo. Daniel Quirk, president and owner, said the company will move into the old Settles Glass building before it finishes constructing the new dealership elsewhere on the former Settles property. The company expects to occupy the old building after four to five months of rehabilitation work; the new building should be ready in about 18 months, he said. Quirk said the dealership will employ between 40 and 60 people. The company owns 15 auto dealerships in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
