Selectmen are investigating a complaint that police officers did a poor job responding to a break-in at an Avon resident’s home, according to Town Administrator Michael McCue. While confirming the investigation, McCue said he could not comment any further about the complaint by Priscilla Phelps, who complained to selectmen in late November about how police handled their investigation into a break-in and theft of jewelry from her home. In a phone interview, Phelps said she was upset that officers were rude, didn’t take fingerprints, “and they didn’t follow up.”
