No changes in administrator job

The Board of Selectmen decided last week not to make changes in the job description for town administrator, after meeting with Peter Boncek, chairman of the Town Government Implementation Committee. The committee has been considering changes to strengthen the position or to replace it with a town manager position. Typically, town managers have more power to act on hiring and other matters without the approval of selectmen. Kingston is currently searching for a town administrator after Jim Thomas was forced to resign from the job last summer following allegations of threatening behavior against female employees. Selectmen had previously voted not to change the job description while a new town administrator is being hired, and last week reaffirmed the decision.
