Christopher Daley, a history teacher in Kingston and president of the Pembroke Historical Society, will present a talk on the Lincoln assassination 6 p.m. on Jan. 24 at the Mansfield Public Library. Daley will discuss his research on the assassination and the events that followed. The presentation will feature a video of Booth’s hideout following the assassination. “There’s been a topical interest in this since the movie came out, and there are also some good books in the library we want to promote,” said Cassie Ormonde, head of the library’s reference department. “We think the program will appeal to a large patron base.” The event, sponsored by the Board of Library Trustees, is free, but attendees should sign up at the library in advance or by calling Ormonde at 508-261-7380, ext. 102.
