Raw sewage leaking from a break in the town’s sewer system in the Onset section of town ran down West Boulevard and into a storm drain discharging into Sunset Cove Saturday, prompting Wareham Harbormaster Garry Buckminster to close down shellfish harvesting in about 14 beds. “We did a blanketed closure of all beds inside Onset Harbor out to the Cape Cod Canal,” Buckminster said Monday. He notified the state Division of Marine Fisheries of the spill. “We’ll do testing today and tomorrow and Marine Fisheries will then make a determination.” Buckminster hoped the beds could be reopened by the end of this week. He said the town’s sewer department fixed the leak shortly after it was detected.
