The Tri-County Symphonic Band is in its 51st season of performing in the area and raising money for the Tri-County Music Association’s scholarship fund and summer study grant fund. The band, consisting of professional, semi-professional, amateur, and student musicians, does five shows a year. The next one will be on Feb. 3 at 3 p.m., at Old Rochester Regional High School, and feature New York Metropolitan Opera Orchestra bassoonist Mark Romatz as guest soloist. Romatz attended the University of Michigan with the tri-county band’s director, Philip E. Sanborn. Tickets for the show are $10, and are available at The Bookstall in Marion, at the door, and online at www.tricountysymphonicband.org.
