Selectmen seek to end pay

Selectmen said they should no longer receive compensation for their jobs, a move that would put $5,000 back in the town coffers annually. Selectmen Chairman Ted Flynn and Selectman Shawn Dahlen both voted to recommend eliminating the $2,000 chairman and $1,500 board member annual stipends. Selectman David Madigan was absent from the weekly Board of Selectmen’s meeting. The decision needs to be approved by Town Meeting voters.
