The Rockland Board of Health this month began collecting so-called medical sharps for safe disposal. Medical sharps include hypodermic needles, syringes, and lancets. Residents can drop them off at the Board of Health office in Town Hall Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. The items must be in medical sharps containers, which can be purchased at any pharmacy. The Board of Health is also holding a free flu clinic on Thursday from 10 a.m. to noon at Town Hall. Health agent Janice McCarthy said residents should register in advance for the clinic because there is a “very limited” supply of vaccine available. To register or for more information, call 781-871-0154, ext. 350.
