Feb. 15 is the deadline for nominations for Raytheon’s STEM (science, technology, engineering, or math) Teacher of the Year award, which will be presented at Patriot Place. “No one knows better than our friends at Raytheon how important STEM education is to the future of this region and the country,” Robert Kraft, chairman and CEO of The Kraft Group, said in a news release last week. “We want to do our part to foster a new generation of scientists, engineers, and mathematicians.” The winning teacher will receive a $5,000 grant to be used for STEM education. The teacher will also be honored in a pregame ceremony at a 2013 New England Patriots game. Nominations must be submitted by someone with direct knowledge of the teacher’s impact on his or her school. A form is available for download at www.thehallatpatriotplace.com that can be submitted by mail or e-mail.
