The Sharon Health Department has run out of flu vaccine and is suggesting that residents looking for a vaccination visit a physician or retail pharmacy. The department does not plan to get more flu vaccine, according to administrative assistant Linda Callan. It does have the pneumonia vaccine, which is recommended for people who are age 65 or older, or who have a long-term health problem, or whose condition or treatment lowers the immune system, or who smoke, according to the Health Department. Pneumonia vaccines are available free to Sharon residents, by appointment, on Tuesdays from 3 to 5 p.m. and Fridays from 9 to 10:30 a.m. To reach the department, call 781-784-1500, ext. 1206.
