Schools put emphasis on security

School security is a high priority in Norwell this fiscal year, according to Superintendent Matthew Keegan. Capital budget requests for 2014 will emphasize heightened security, and the district is currently collecting information from relevant vendors, said Keegan at a recent School Committee meeting. He said the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., has made security-related capital requests more urgent. Other requests include replacing gymnasium floors and an electrical generator at one of the elementary schools.
