Citing family circumstances, Councilor Kristy Colon resigned from the Town Council on Jan 22, just a few months before she would have been up for re-election to a second term. Colon was one of the council’s original members, elected in late 2010 after voters approved a change from a selectmen and town meeting form of government to a town council. Colon was council president at the time of her retirement, and Town Clerk Ronald Adams, as required by the Town Charter, will oversee the election of a new president at the panel’s meeting Tuesday. Colon's now vacant seat will be on the April 27 annual election ballot, along with two other three-year terms for the Town Council.
