Despite cold and snow, the second public meeting in Phase I of the updating of the town’s Master Plan drew 110 people to the Senior Center Monday night. Sue Brown of consultant Brown Walker Planners presented feedback generated by focus groups that were part of the process. Members of the Youth Focus Group praised “people and sports” as two areas where the town did well, but voiced concern about several aspects of the schools, including facilities. Others praised Stoughton’s location, public transportation, and town services but were critical of the state of Stoughton Center. Planning Board Chairman Joseph Scardino, head of the Master Plan Committee, said he expects the results of a recent survey of residents to be compiled and posted on the town’s website in March. The committee will then move to Phase II, focused on economic development. For more information, go to www.stoughtonmasterplan.org.
