Police drills designed to protect schools

Police officers from Plympton recently joined with colleagues from Carver to practice active shooting drills and simulate lockdown procedures at two elementary schools, which were both empty of students at the time. On Jan. 22, practice took place at Plympton’s Dennett Elementary School, where officers studied the building layout, honed tactics, and fine-tuned reaction time. They worked with teachers and used blank ammunition to simulate a shooting scene.
