Richard Boucher of Kingston was sentenced on Jan. 30 to life in prison without parole for the 2010 murder of James Tigges, District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz announced. Prosecutors said that on a night in May 2010, Boucher showed up to a party at 7 Cortelli Court in Plymouth and began drinking beer that belonged to Tigges and Jackson Duncan. As Tigges and Duncan were leaving the party, Boucher followed them outside and shot at them, according to Cruz’s office. Tigges died after being shot four times; Duncan was left paralyzed. Boucher, who is now 21, was tried in Plymouth Superior Court in Brockton and convicted on Jan. 25 of first degree murder, assault with intent to murder, assault with a dangerous weapon, and unlawful possession of a firearm.
