Officials of the Buzzards Bay Area Habitat for Humanity will meet with Marion’s Zoning Board of Appeals Feb. 21 in the hope of securing a comprehensive permit to build a Habitat home at 185 Wareham Road. George McTurk, a Habitat representative, said the paperwork is in place to get the permit and “we don't anticipate any problems.” If all goes well, work on the foundation will begin when the weather warms up, he said. A dilapidated home at the site has been torn down to make way for the new home. Last November, Special Town Meeting voted to approve using $30,000 of Community Preservation Act money to help fund the project, which would be the town’s first Habitat home. A family for the home has not yet been chosen, McTurk said. For information on how to apply for the home, visit www.buzzardsbayhabitat.org.
