Investigators are focusing on the heating system as the cause of a fire that badly damaged a home at 11 Malcomb St. on Feb. 1, according to Jennifer Mieth of the state Fire Marshal’s office. “It appears accidental,” Mieth said last week. She said both the Weymouth Fire Department and state are investigating the fire, which started around 10:30 p.m. and caused extensive damage to the single-family home. The homeowner was treated for smoke inhalation, Mieth said.
