National History Day finalists advance to regional competition

Two dozen high school students from West Bridgewater won the chance to show their projects for National History Day at a regional competition that will be held at Brockton High School on March 2. Junior year division finalists include group exhibits on Auschwitz, Dorothea Dix, and Bob Fosse; individual exhibits include those on the federal Highway Act of 1956 and the Halifax explosion of 1917. Around 160 exhibits will be shown at the finals. Winners will go to the state competition on April 6 at Stoneham High School, and then to the national competition at the University of Maryland at College Park from June 9 through 13.
