Family movie at Walpole High

While the region digs out from the snow, Walpole High wants to cool down. A group called Cool Seats will screen a movie on Wednesday  at 11 a.m. in the Walpole High  auditorium to raise money for installing air-conditioning in the auditorium. “With temperatures soaring in the 90s, the auditorium has become an extremely uncomfortable space for activities running in the spring,” said Mike Alan, who runs the school’s student film festival in May. Alan joined other faculty members to form Cool Seats – with a goal of raising $75,000 to $100,000. The suggested donation for the fund-raiser event is $5; refreshments will be sold separately. Organizers can’t publicize the name of the film for contractual reasons, but they say it’s a family movie. An adult must accompany children under 12.
