Sustainable Braintree is encouraging participation in this year’s Green Gala fund-raiser to support the organization’s programs. The event will take place on March 2 at 7 p.m. in Braintree Town Hall, with tickets costing $50 per person. According to a news release, the proceeds will help events like the Farmers Market, hosted from June through November, and provide money for the annual $1,000 student scholarships and teacher grants by the Braintree Fund for Education. This year, organizers also hope to raise enough to fund a garden at Flaherty Elementary School. “We feel we’ve made a significant impact on the town and are really the voice of sustainability and environmental awareness,” said Cheryl Edgar, president of Sustainable Braintree.
