Town meeting rescheduled

Because of last weekend’s snowstorm, the special Town Meeting slated for last Tuesday has been rescheduled for Feb. 26 at 7:30 p.m. at the high school. Also rescheduled was the Planning Board’s public hearing on a proposed zoning bylaw to restrict where medical marijuana dispensaries can locate in town. That hearing date was moved from last Monday to Feb. 25 at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall. The proposed bylaw is one of three articles on the special Town Meeting warrant. Another is a $125,000 spending request to fund the engineering costs of a project to install a traffic light and make other upgrades at the intersection of Washington and Pleasant streets. Voters will also be asked to rescind 11 borrowing authorizations made previously by Town Meeting for capital projects, because the remaining funds are no longer needed for the original purposes.
