Town officials are considering whether to schedule the annual town election on the same date as the primary in the special election for US senator. Pembroke normally holds its town election on the fourth Saturday in April, which this year would be April 27. But the state passed legislation setting April 30 as the date for the Senate primary and June 25 for the general election, and allowed towns to hold their local elections on the same dates. Town Administrator Edwin Thorne said officials are exploring what the town could save by holding its election on April 30, and whether separate ballots would confuse voters. He said selectmen are expected to take up the question in the next couple of weeks.
