Holbrook Community Access and Media, which produces Holbrook public access television, has started a communications club for students at Holbrook Junior-Senior High School with the goal of creating student-produced community news broadcasts. The club meets weekly at the HCAM studio at the school. Zack Gorman, access coordinator for HCAM and adviser to the club, said the club will initially produce broadcasts monthly, but he hopes to increase their frequency to twice a month and then weekly during the 2013-2014 school year. Taping began Feb. 12. Gorman said three students have started a separate sports talk show, and he hopes other students will develop an interest in television production as a career.
