School meeting date changed

The next School Committee meeting has been moved up to March 4 from the originally scheduled date of March 11, following the cancellation of the Feb. 11 meeting due to the Nemo snowstorm. The agenda for the March 4 meeting has not been released, but the committee had a full slate of business scheduled for the canceled session, including a presentation on the schools’ operating budget for next year by Superintendent Liz Sorrell and Patrick Meagher, assistant superintendent for business and finance. Also scheduled for that meeting was a report from the Subcommittee for School Safety by Sorrel and the schools’ director of facilities, Dave Siedentopf, in the wake of the Newtown school shooting. The committee meets at 6 p.m. at the school department offices at 3 Carver Square.
